Light, flaky tea biscuits are a great addition to any meal! With a little butter and jelly, they also make a fantastic afternoon snack!
Recipe for Tea Biscuits
Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar (optional)
- 1/4 cup cold butter
- 1 cup milk
- Preheat oven to 450° F.
- Blend together flour, baking powder, salt and sugar.
- Add butter and blend with a pastry cutter.
- Stir in milk but don’t mix thoroughly. Let it be lumpy.
- On a clean, floured surface, knead 10 times.

Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter or margarine
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 tsp.salt
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 tsp baking soda
Instructions
- In a medium mixing bowl combine flour, baking powder, sugar and salt.
- Cut in butter or margarine. Set aside.
- In a small bowl combine baking soda and buttermilk.
- Add to flour mixture and blend well.

- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 cups flour

- In a medium sized bowl mix together mashed bananas and granulated sugar.
