Tea Biscuits

Light, flaky tea biscuits are a great addition to any meal! With a little butter and jelly, they also make a fantastic afternoon snack!

Recipe for Tea Biscuits

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar (optional)
  • 1/4 cup cold butter
  • 1 cup milk
  1. Preheat oven to 450° F.
  2. Blend together flour, baking powder, salt and sugar.
  3. Add butter and blend with a pastry cutter.
  4. Stir in milk but don’t mix thoroughly. Let it be lumpy.
  5. On a clean, floured surface, knead 10 times.

Sticky Cinnamon Buns

These yummy cinnamon buns will be ready, and gone in no time!

Recipe for sticky cinnamon buns

Ingredients

  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup oil
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup instant vanilla pudding
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons sugar
  • 4 cups flour

Filling

  • 1/4 cup margarine
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 4 tablespoons cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 cups raisins (optional)

Instructions

  1. Mix first 4 ingredients well in large bowl or bread mixer.
  2. Add vanilla pudding, salt, sugar and yeast and mix.

Refrigerator Bran Muffins

Healthy, moist muffins make a great breakfast or afternoon snack. Refrigerate the batter and have fresh muffins daily!

Recipe for Refrigerator Bran Muffins

Ingredients

  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 2 cups 100% Bran
  • 1 cup margarine, softened
  • 2 1/2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cup raisins (optional)
  • 4 cups All-Bran cereal
  • 5 cups flour
  • 5 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 cups buttermilk

Instructions

  1. In a small heat resistant bowl, pour boiling water over 100% bran.
  2. In another bowl, cream together margarine and sugar.
  3. Add beaten egg and buttermilk.

Peaches and Cream Muffins

Recipe for Peaches and Cream Muffins

Ingredients

  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup milk or sour cream
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup peaches, chopped

Instructions

  1. In a small mixing bowl, beat egg.
  2. Stir in milk and oil.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
  4. Stir into the egg mixture just until moistened.
  5. Stir in the peaches.

Easy Buttermilk Drop Scones

These are sweet scones. Great with butter and jam! Very easy to make. Have them on the table in 20 minutes!

Recipe for Easy Buttermilk Drop Scones

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp.salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tsp baking soda

Instructions

  1. In a medium mixing bowl combine flour, baking powder, sugar and salt.
  2. Cut in butter or margarine. Set aside.
  3. In a small bowl combine baking soda and buttermilk.
  4. Add to flour mixture and blend well.
