A healthy snack choice that is fun and fruity!

Recipe for Golden Fruit and Nut Bars

In a small mixing bowl mix:

  • ¾ cup raisins
  • ½ cup sliced almonds
  • ½ finely chopped apricots
  • 6 cups corn flake cereal

In a medium saucepan boil together:

  • ¼ cup melted margarine
  • 1/3 cup corn syrup
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla

Hearty Chicken Noodle Soup

Chicken noodle soup bulked up for a satisfying and hearty favourite.

Recipe for Hearty Chicken Noodle Soup

In a large saucepan add:

  • 2 Cups Cubed Raw Chicken Breast
  • 1 Litre Chicken Broth
  • 2 Cups Water

Add:

  • 1 Small Onion, chopped
  • 1 Clove Garlic, minced
  • 1 large carrot, shredded
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 can cream of celery soup

In a small saucepan cook and add to soup:

  • 2 cups Rotini

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan add cubed chicken breast, chicken broth and water.

Easy Banana Bread

This moist banana bread is easy to make, and simple to serve. Our time-tested banana bread recipe is delicious and will leave your house smelling like a home!

Banana bread is a long-standing favourite to serve on any occasion, but it’s also great for lunches and over coffee.

Recipe for Easy Banana Bread

In a small mixing bowl sift together:

  • 1 1/4 cups Flour(300mL.)
  • 1 tsp. Baking Soda (5mL.)

In a medium size mixing bowl mix:

  • 1/2 cup Oil (125 mL.)
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 cup Sugar (250 mL.)
  • 2 Ripe Mashed Bananas

Good Old Fashioned Apple Crisp

Apple crisp is a wonderful but simple dessert that will be a reminder of Grandma’s house! Warm and sweet with a delightfully crunchy topping.

Recipe for Good Old Fashioned Apple Crisp

    Crumble together and divide in half:

  • 1 cup oatmeal
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ½ margarine
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup flour
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
    Stir together:

  • 6 medium sized apples (with or without peel is optional) sliced
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
